5 ways to beat the work place blues

If getting back to regular work after the holiday season left you like this

take heart, you’re not alone. Here are 5 must do things to keep you going. (The Republic Day weekend is not far away!)

1. DON’T DIVE RIGHT IN 

Take it easy. Set small goals. Walk around and catch your breath. Whine to a couple of others how pathetic the air here is compared to the pristine beach you just came back from. And at all costs, avoid that jerk who seems mighty pleased to be back at work.

 

2. PLAN FOR THE NEXT BREAK

Yes, nothing beats the blues like a nice weekend trip to anticipate. Even a movie outing, a short drive out of town or a quick round of drinks with friends on a weekday takes the edge off.

3. BRING SOMETHING BACK

Did something you particularly found fulfilling? Surprised by how much fun you had with that old friend? Or that totally cool cousin you discovered? Make them a part of your life now; squeeze a quick catch up into your schedule

4.ARRIVE A DAY EARLY

We know it’s probably a little late to do this one now, but keep this tip in mind for the next long vacation. Arrive in town at least half a day to a day before you have to start work. This way you aren’t trying to keep yesterday’s sleep out of your eyes. And you’ve had some time to settle in and ‘mourn’ the end of the season.

5.IT’LL BE THAT TIME AGAIN , SOON !

Don’t forget to be a little grateful that all you have are these ‘first-world’ problems! And if you still can’t drag yourself out of the blues, chin up –  because it’ll be that time of the year again soon. So until next year, count your blessings and go make someone happy.
